Product information MIRATEC® W 4

Thermoflexible slurry based on alumina silicate with C contents for gray and ductile iron castings.

Coating for dipping application suitable for cores made with cold box, epoxy-SO2, shell core and hot box. The grain structure and sintering behaviour yield anti-veining and/or vein inhibiting effects. The Baumé range for cores dipped in cooled-off condition ranges between 30° and 50°, for cores dipped in heated condition, especially shell cores, the Baumè range lies between 26° and 35°, and for hot box cores between 35° and 40°. If needed, all MIRATEC® types can also be applied with a brush. All MIRATEC® types excel by optimum floating properties. When the coating is being stirred in the basin, unnecessary swirls should be avoided which are likely to carry air pockets into the coating. The integrated wetting agent would otherwise form bubbles on the surface of the coating. A penetration inhibitor prevents the migration of water towards the core centre. MIRATEC® W 4 is a coating for dipping application with very short dripping times, thus very suitable for smaller cores, i.e. for hydraulic castings.
