Thermoflexible slurry based on alumina silicate with ceramic bond for gray and ductile iron castings.

MIRATEC® W 3 belongs to the high-solids coatings for dipping application suitable for cores made with cold box, epoxy-SO2, shell core and hot box. The grain structure and sintering behaviour yield anti-veining and/or vein inhibiting effects. The ceramic part of the coating increases the refractory properties of this KERNTOP ® and allows for a good grip onto the core surface. A penetration inhibitor prevents water to settle onto the core surface and leads to quick evaporation. The dipping behaviour is very good with short dripping time. MIRATEC ® W 3 should be applied in a Baumé range between 38° and 28°. This corresponds to a diluted condition of at least 40 weight % in relation to the original material.
