Alcohol-based coating of ceramic nature with thermoflexible componentes as well as iron oxide, graphite and ceramic contents for gray and nodular iron castings. SILICO ® L 222 E is used for brushing, flow coating and spraying application. Smaller and medium-sized cores can also be dipped. SILICO ® L 222 E shows after brushing very smooth surfaces even with complicated core geometries. When flow coated the red color of the coating provides a good contrast to darker mold material surfaces (e.g. No Bake). The high quality ceramic portion will provide an optimum peel between mold material and casting surface. The coating is recommended for cores and molds made with the No Bake, Askoset, Avenol F, Cold Box and CO2 processes. Furthermore, SILICO ® L 222 E has good suspension and stir up properties. SILICO ® L 222 E can be diluted with the original ethanol as well as with isopropanol for flow coating or dipping purposes. Drying methods: light off or air drying. |
