Product information SILICO® L 200 GS

Refractory alcohol-based ready-made coating on zirconium silicate for steel, gray iron, nodular iron and heavy metal casting.

This coating was specially developed for brush-on, flooding and spraying application. Also dipping of smaller to medium-size cores is possible after thinning the core wash respectively.

Suitable for cores and molds manufactured with the No Bake, Askoset, Cold Box, Avenol F, Novanol and the Sodium Silicate (CO2) Process. SILICO ® L 200 GS has high refractory properties and provides optimum separation between mold material and casting surface.

A special binder system provides a very good adhesion to the surface and an excellent resistance against abrasion of the dried core wash coating. Furthermore, this KERNTOP ® has a good floating property which makes it possible to stir the KERNTOP ® also after prolonged storage times.

The high solids content allows for a relative quick air drying. In view of burning off the core coating, this KERNTOP ® was developed with a special "restrained burning-off property".
